Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this clinical study was to determine the effectiveness of treatment of skin rejuvenation utilizing Fractional laser resurfacing and mono polar RF in Japanese patients.
Materials and Methods: 153 human subjects, skin types 2 thru 4 and ages 30’s to 70’s were treated with 4-5 treatments Fraxel (1550nm erbium grass fractional laser resurfacing) and 1-2 treatments ThermaCool TC (mono polar RF) within 6 months. As the post treatment protocol, all patients were given oral medicine and topical medication.
Results: After 2 month of follow-up, the improvements were rated subjectively and patients reported improvements in skin texture, spotty pigment and pore size and melasma compared to the base line, respectively.
Conclusions: Combination therapy of using Fraxel (1550nm erbium grass fractional laser resurfacing) and ThermaCool TC (mono polar RF) may offer a safe, non-ablative method to improve skin textures and spotty pigment (including melasama) and large pore.
