マニラっぽい景色。昔は東南アジアは全てこんな感じでしたね。
A scene that feels so typical of Manila.
This is how most of Southeast Asia used to look in the old days.
マニラに突然行くことになりましたが、以前お世話になった不動産企業にも連絡を取り、マニラの担当の方にフィリピンの現況も色々聞くことができました。
フィリピンの現地料理も美味しくいただきました。
しばらく禁酒だったので、ビールの旨さが喉に沁みます。
It was a sudden trip to Manila, but I got in touch with a real estate company I had worked with before, and was able to talk with their Manila representative about the current situation in the Philippines.
I also enjoyed some delicious local Filipino dishes.
I’d been off alcohol for a while, so that beer really hit the spot!
大手町～銀座というイメージの中心の街はマカティ、新しい経済の中心はボニファシオ•グローバル•シティ（BGC）。
ポルシェがいるなあと思っていたらGT3でした。
聖ロカ病院もありますね。
The central district — the equivalent of Otemachi to Ginza in Tokyo — is Makati, while the new economic hub is Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
I noticed a Porsche on the street — turned out it was a GT3!
There’s also St. Luke’s Hospital around here.
ちょっと街外れに行くとマニラはこのような雰囲気です。
Once you go a little outside the city center, this is what Manila looks like.
日本へのトランジットが9時間もあったので、中華街を通過して、イントラムロスへ。
スペイン統治時代の象徴的建築。1607年建立のサン・アグスティン教会（世界遺産）。
重厚なネオロマネスク様式のカテドラルのマニラ大聖堂。
民族独立の英雄ホセ・リサールが収監された要塞のフォート・サンチャゴなどを歩いて散策。
古いマニラの街並みが偲ばれますね。
Since I had a 9-hour layover on my way to Japan, I passed through Chinatown and headed to Intramuros — the iconic district symbolizing the Spanish colonial era.
I visited San Agustin Church, built in 1607 and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Manila Cathedral, a magnificent Neo-Romanesque cathedral.
I also strolled around Fort Santiago, the fortress where José Rizal, the hero of the Philippine independence movement, was imprisoned.
Walking through these historic sites, I could really feel the atmosphere of old Manila.
