ほんの15年ぐらい前に、こちらの学会で講演に来た時には、単なる埋め立て地でした。

タクシーの運転手がここに連れてきてくれて、ここに大きな公園が建つ予定だと言われた時にはうそだろう？と思ったのを思い出します。

単なる埋め立ての野っ原でした。

以来、マリーナベイサンズの海側は、来るたびにものすごい勢いで建築物が植物の森と共に建って美しい公園と化しています。

6年間来られなかったコロナの期間も、ここぞとばかりチャンギ空港を完全閉鎖して改装し、完璧なまでの都市計画を遂行したシンガポール。

統率力と実行力に驚きます。

ワクチン、三密騒ぎで目先の事にあたふたして、5兆円もの国家予算をドブに捨ててしまった日本の政治家とは、能力が桁外れに違いますね。

あのお金をお台場などの埋め立て地の新たな首都東京改装に使えば、どんなに素晴らしい事になっていたのか。

海外の人を集められる大きなコンベンションセンターと商業施設や住居などなど、一大プロジェクトになりましたよね。

やはり国家を変えるためにはトップになるためのコマンダー教育の新たな場所の提供と、現状の解法記憶を重視する受験教育の変革が必要ですね。

そして、日本の経済圏の独立分国化。地方ごとにより強い自治権を与える合州国制度に移行すべきでないですかね。このままだと世界の中で日本は文化と共に消えてしまう。

About 15 years ago, when I came to give a lecture at conference held in Singapore , this place was just a landfill. I remember thinking, “No way!” when the taxi driver brought me here and told me that a large park was going to be built here. It was just a barren landfill.
Every time I come to the sea side of Marina Bay Sands, buildings are rapidly rising up alongside a forest of greenery, transforming it into a beautiful park. Even during the six years I couldn’t visit due to COVID-19, Singapore took the opportunity to completely close and renovate Changi Airport, executing a flawless urban plan. I am amazed by their leadership and execution skills.
Japanese politicians, on the other hand, wasted 5 trillion yen of the national budget on haphazard responses to immediate issues like vaccines and the “three Cs” (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings). The difference in capability is astounding. Imagine how great it would have been if that money had been used to renovate Tokyo.
To truly change the nation, we need to provide new educational opportunities for commanders aiming for leadership positions and reform the current exam-oriented education that focuses on rote memorization. Additionally, Japan should consider transitioning to a federal system that grants stronger autonomy to each region. Otherwise, Japan, along with its culture, may disappear from the world stage.

久しぶりにガッカリしようと世界三大名所にやってきましたが、活気あるシンガポール金融街を観て、あまりガッカリできなかったです。

6年ぶりに来て、かなり焦りました。

感覚がズレてました。
